Oh hi.
I always describe my political affiliation as, "Blue, with a big orange stripe running through." In Canada, this means that I'm more or less right-wing/conservative, but I've got some left-wing tendencies. Example: I love the idea of free public health care, except for the part where people abuse it because it's free. Rights (left-wing-ish) and responsibilities (right-wing-ish) should go hand in hand.
Of course, this isn't a political blog. Or at least, not Comments On Official Government Business political. It's just the junk drawer that I pile my thoughts into so that I can free up brain space for things like remembering how to do things at work.
I'm a lab tech, by the way. No, that's not a "fancy nurse." I went to university for four years and in that time completed a 42-week clinical rotation through the five different disciplines of lab medicine. I've learned to collect blood, analyze it for a myriad of different... um, analytes... and in some cases provide more blood to transfuse back into a patient. We're a special breed of health care worker. They keep us locked away, except during our meal breaks when we get to venture into the cafeteria to look at whatever the deep fryer is serving up. And yes, we work all hours of the day and night. Because people don't just get sick from 8 to 4.
I like offbeat (and clever) humour, feeling like I'm kicking ass in the gym, and gorging myself on a big post-ass-kicking-workout-dinner. I dislike mushrooms, being sick, and people who won't leave me alone when I tell them to leave me alone (which is often).
I have aspirations of doing something great, but I don't know what "greatness" I want to achieve. I'm hoping it'll hit me soon.
